The distinctive chain, celebrated for the unusual pairing of poultry and sweets, will be moving into 200 Ridge Pike in the Plymouth Square Shopping Center. Federal Donuts will be a neighbor to a Saladworks.

The new eatery does not have an opening timeline available currently. The restaurant will be helmed by a trio of entrepreneurs. Franchisees Chris Magarity, Mike Sloane, and Michael Heller will be opening two other suburban Federal Donuts locations; one in Radnor and one in Willow Grove. The Radnor location is first on the opening roster, with the trio hoping to begin serving guests late this summer.

Philly hospitality royalty Michael Solomonov and Steve Cook founded Federal Donuts in 2011. The chain, which earned acclaim with its Korean fried chicken and, of course, donuts, has only recently made the move into franchising. The concept currently has 10 locations, 8 in Philadelphia, one in Wynnewood, and a third in Las Vegas.
