In an email to the Observer published last Tuesday, Oct 11, a representative of the quick-service Mexican chain said, “We are currently planning to open a Chipotle in Brooklawn in spring 2023,” adding, “The restaurant will feature a Chipotlane drive-thru pickup lane for digital order pickup in addition to a dining room and front line.”

The Chipotlane saw its earliest prototypes being worked out as far back as 2018, and has been hailed as a “game changer” by the likes of QSR Magazine, which pegged the number of Chipotlanes nationwide at about 250 this time last year.

Meanwhile, Austyn, a blogger for local New Jersey radio station 94.5 PST wrote of the news, “Pretty cool that this location will be getting a Chipotlane! Not a lot of Chipotle’s have that, and will be great for added convenience.”

Founded in Denver, CO in 1993, Chipotle has all but disrupted the traditional quick-service model in recent years, spawning a new generation of create-your-own restaurants across just about every culinary tradition imaginable, from salads and poke bowls to pizza and bibimbap.

Today, the company operates some 3,000 locations across the US, all of which are corporate-owned.
