The Brooklyn Dumpling Shop will bring automat technology back to Philadelphia with five new franchise locations. Nick Sordoni, Stephen Hudacek, and Alex Flack of FHG Group LLC signed on to open five Brooklyn Dumpling Shops in the City of Brotherly Love. “Brooklyn Dumpling Shop grabbed our attention with its innovative concept and sleek aesthetic,” Sordoni said in a press release. “After tasting the food and witnessing the intense passion and energy at every level of the organization, we were left with no doubt – we need to bring Brooklyn Dumpling Shop to Philadelphia! After all, the very first automat on U.S. soil opened on Chestnut Street in 1902, and we can’t wait to bring the automat experience back to the people of Philadelphia.”

The partners are scouting locations in Center City and University for their restaurants. Each location will have seating and is expected to be between 1,000 and 1,500 sq. ft. At Brooklyn Dumpling Shop, customers can place their orders on a phone or kiosk and will receive a QR code once the order is placed. You can watch your order prepared in the glass-encased open kitchen and pick up your order in a heated or chilled locker by scanning your QR code.

“Philadelphia has always been and always will be one of the best restaurant cities in the world. You don’t get there without a population that appreciates not only the quality of the food but the quality of the experience. Brooklyn Dumpling shop checks both boxes by delivering delicious products in a safe, fun, dynamic environment,” Sordoni told What Now Philadelphia.
