“We are seeing rapid growth on the East Coast, and we are excited to partner with franchisees looking to capitalize on the opportunity we are experiencing in these markets. Demand for our drive-thru and delivery-focused model continues to grow,” Kristen McDonald, Vice President of Development at Checkers & Rally’s, said in a press release.

Checkers Drive-In Restaurants Inc. began its recent East Coast expansion with a six-unit deal in Rhode Island, the twenty-sixth state where the company has opened locations, as well as five-unit deals in Maryland, South Carolina, and Georgia.

“We are thrilled to officially open in Rhode Island, and welcome our new partners to the Checkers & Rally’s family. We look forward to working closely with them and all of our East Coast franchisees to help deliver an iconic experience to the communities they serve and ensure their overall success.”

Checkers & Rally’s double drive-thru concept has also recently expanded into the West Coast as a part of their nationwide accelerated growth with 15 locations planned for Orange County. Checkers bought Rally’s in 1999 and kept the Rally’s branding in places where it was predominant. Checkers and Rally’s both have the same menus serving burgers, hot dogs, chicken, milkshakes, and their famous fries from their walk-up windows, and drive-thrus.
