Philadelphians can soon work on their swing before catching a concert or comedy show when Five Iron Golf opens its new Fishtown location. Construction of the 10,00 sq. ft. site at 27 E. Allen St. is expected to be completed for a March 2022 opening.
“We’re really excited about being in the neighborhood,” Five Iron Golf Co-Founder and COO Nora Dunnan told What Now Media. “It just seems like this is a great block, and I think a lot of residents will be coming here to hang out and socialize, and we want to be a part of that.”
Dunnan said she was attracted to the neighborhood because of its recent development and potential to share patronage with other businesses on the block, including the new Brooklyn Bowl, The Filmore Philadelphia, Punch Line Philly, and Philadelphia Distillery.
“We wanted to provide Philly residents with another place to golf, hosts private events, and join leagues. We’ve been happy with the number of folks coming into the Rittenhouse location and felt the City of Philadelphia would support two Five Iron locations,” Dunnan said.
Five Iron Golf’s new location is considerably larger than their 6,000 sq. ft. facility on Chestnut Street. It will have ten 16-ft Trackman surround camera technology golf simulators as opposed to their first Philly location, which has eight. The Fishtown location will also have lockers rooms and on-site club repair. Guests can rent out a simulator, host or attend events, take lessons, play in leagues, and have their clubs fitted at Five Iron Golf. Their bar will offer eight beers on tap to accompany their cocktail menu, while the upscale American bar food on their menu will be made in-house from scratch.
Five Iron Golf is also working on opening two more locations in Chicago, as well as one in Seattle, Boston, and Detroit. They are looking for additional locations in cities around the U.S. to expand further. You can find their website at fiveirongolf.com.
