The plan needs to be approved by a final Town Council hearing. JRI Hospitality president and CEO, Jason Ingermanson, is hopeful that Freddy’s will open the doors to its first Delaware restaurant by the end of 2024.

JRI Hospitality invested in Freddy’s early and frequently. The company owns nearly 80 Freddy’s, and is using the Middletown location as a blueprint for potential additional Delaware restaurants. “We have a lot more in the pipeline”, Ingermanson states.

Freddy’s Frozen Custard and Steakburgers originated in Wichita, Kansas in 2002.The restaurant chain has big plans for the next three years, hoping to open more than 300 new stores during that period.

Freddy’s serves classic American fare. The restaurant specializes in made-to-order steakburgers and shoestring fries. Guests can also order Vienna Beef hotdogs, chicken tenders, onion rings, and of course, the titular frozen custard.

Freddy’s Frozen Custard and Steakburgers currently has over 380 locations spread across 32 states.
