OMG Hospitality’s Grain Craft Bar + Kitchen will open its sixth location this spring in Wilmington, DE, at 1709 Delaware Ave., which was formerly inhabited by BarRoja and Scratch Magoo’s. Their fifth is opening at the University of Delaware’s STAR campus sometime in the middle of the year, according to Delaware Online. Jim O’Donoghue and Lee Mikles, owners of OMG Hospitality (which stands for O’Donoghue + Mikles = Great Times), say they can’t wait to meet their new neighbors in Trolley Square.

“We really pride ourselves on the relationships we build with our guests. In all of our locations, we want them to feel comfortable there,” Mikles told What Now Philadelphia. “We try to be that place where people want to come and hang out, regardless if you’re single, a couple, or a family. We want to make sure everyone has an opportunity to come out and socialize.”

Like their other Grain Craft Bar + Kitchens, the Trolley Square location will have a wall of drawings of their favorite regulars. So, they’re looking forward to starting that wall. Grain Craft Bar + Kitchen Trolley Square will boast an indoor bar and a rear dining room with a combined seating of just under 100. Their half-covered, half-open-air patio will be cooled by fans in the warmer months and feature about 40 outdoor dining seats. There will also be about 25 seats at the outdoor bar, where guests can catch the game on one of their TVs or enjoy the restaurant’s live music events.

“Having grown up frequenting many of Trolley Square’s destinations, I fondly recall the relaxed atmosphere and outdoor patio of this spot. We can’t wait to open our doors to nearby residents and show them all that Grain has to offer,” O’Donoghue said in a press release.

Since this will be Grain Craft Bar + Kitchen’s smallest location, their menus will be tightened to include all their fan-favorite dishes, craft beers, and handcrafted cocktails. Their chef is also working on ways to add some local touches to their culinary offerings. The restaurant will undergo some cosmetic touches before Grain Craft Bar + Kitchen moves in.

The O’Donoghue and Milkes families, who were neighbors, started OMG Hospitality in 2015 by opening their first gastropub in Newark. Their second Grain Craft Bar + Kitchen opened in Kennet Square, PA in 2015, followed by Grain H20 in Bear, DE in 2017 and Grain On The Rocks in 2020 in Lewes, DE. OMG Hospitality also owns Lewes Coffee Company.
