Perhaps you’ve already stumbled across one of HipCityVeg’s portabella burgers…the company, founded in 2012, currently operates five stores in Pennsylvania, as well as two in Washington D.C. Even if you’ve never indulged in the shop’s soy ice cream-based shakes or tucked into an order of sweet potato fries, here’s some news you won’t want to miss.

HipCityVeg recently announced a major expansion. The company plans to open eight, that’s right, eight new stores across Philly, NYC, and D.C.

First to open in Philly will be the eatery’s Port Richmond location. HipCityVeg will reportedly open a 1,000 square-foot “go-kitchen,” which will act as a take-out only ghost kitchen. The ghost kitchen, which will also have pick-up shelves if you aren’t feeling the delivery fee, is set to open in November, although no exact location has been announced. Two additional Philly stores will follow.

Burgers, chick’n sandwiches, salads, and fries all grace the menu at HipCityVeg. The eatery prides itself on providing delicious vegan food that is easily accessible, oh and takes the form of foods you already know and love. “By choosing vegan ingredients and compostable materials, we’re creating a new normal that’s better for ourselves and the world we live in,” shares HipCityVeg’s website.

Keep an eye on HipCityVeg’s social media for updates on the Philly stores. And if you’re even in NYC, you know where to get your next tasty plant-based meal.
