“We just had some hiccups with the construction delays, but we’re excited,” Shelat tells What Now Philadelphia. “We have so many customers waiting for us to open, and we can’t wait to open either.”

According to local media outlet, Lehigh Valley Live, the Lower Macungie location is just one of two Wayback Burgers planned for the region, with another going up at 2185 W. Union Blvd in Bethlehem, though an opening schedule has not yet been announced. What’s more, the brand currently operates one location in Bethlehem, as well as one in Whitehall.

In fact, Shelat, who has extensive experience managing various Dunkin’ locations over the years, will be opening Wayback Burgers with his sister and brother-in-law, who were “impressed by the chain’s vision” after visiting the existing Bethlehem Township location, according to Lehigh Valley Live.

In addition to signature favorites such as the Classic, Double Bacon, and Big Easy, Wayback Burgers also features a regional option – the Carolina – and seasonal fare like the currently available Oktoberfest Burger.

Wayback Burgers was founded in Delaware in 1991, and “symbolizes the inner ‘rebel,’ who might not eat their veggies, but hold the door for grandma every time,” according to its official website. “It’s a place for everyone to feel comfortable, and no one is excluded. It feels revived – you and fresh with a nod to how things were ‘back in the day’ but with a twist.”
