Comcast Spectator announced Monday that local award-winning chef Marc Vetri’s new pizzeria, MVP, will join the culinary offerings at the Wells Fargo Center when the 76ers and Flyers kick off their NBA and NHL seasons respectively this fall.  Currently in the midst of a wider $50 million renovation, MVP will take up a stand formerly occupied by The Bistro on the club level along 11th Street.

In a statement, Vetri explained, “Next to making pasta, pizza is one of my favorite obsessions. I’m thrilled to be making pizza again and to be back inside an arena. We’ve spent the summer perfecting our fresh dough at Wells Fargo Center and can’t wait to share the club level with some amazing leaders in the culinary space.”

One of those “amazing leaders” is Iron Chef Jose Garces, who will also be occupying a former Bistro outpost on the club level with his fast-casual concept, Garces Eats, which brings together some of the best dishes available at Garces Restaurant Group brands such as Village Whiskey, the Olde Bar, and, despite it closing in July, Distrito.

The last of the local powerhouse trifecta will be Stephen Starr who is opening Adrian, a 300-seat “upscale American tavern” named for Philadelphia’s most famous fictional boxer, Rocky.

According to Wells Fargo Center President Valerie Camillo, “This new culinary concept from the incredible Marc Vetri finalizes our amazing lineup of world-class, local food and beverage options that will debut at the new Wells Fargo Center this fall as we open our new club level.”
