Mochi donuts have quickly risen to become one of America’s hottest new dessert sensations. Indulgent and glutenous, the popular desserts are made from Japanese rice cakes and frosted with sweet and bold new flavors. While the desserts have been exceptionally popular in Asia for quite some time, they are a relative newcomer to America, especially on the East Coast. Once they arrived though, Americans couldn’t get enough, and now more and more mochi donut shops are springing up across the country.

One such shop is Mochi Ring Donut. Established in Edison, NJ by owner Sungmin Jeong, Mochi Ring Donut was created to give the classic traditional donut a new twist to its taste an name, offering a unique creation of ingredients found commonly in the East that perfectly matches those from the West. Mochi Ring Donuts has become especially popular for its creative new flavor profiles, including donut options like Nutella, taro, matcha, ube, black sesame, churro, and of course milk chocolate.

Additionally, Mochi Ring Donut also offers deep-fried Korean rice hot dogs, another food sensation that has been sweeping the nation. Made from either sausage, mozzarella, or a combination of the two, Korean rice dogs are skewered and coated in a sweet flour batter before being rolled in a layer of toppings. Mochi Ring Donuts goes the extra mile by offering guests wild and bold new toppings like French fries, cornflakes, ramen noodles, and of course traditional panko breadcrumbs. To top off the experience, Mochi Ring also offers a wide assortment of tasty bubble teas, including flavors like pineapple green tea, mango slush, and peach oolong milk tea.

Currently, Mochi Ring Donuts operates three separate locations across the country. Their headquarters is located in Edison New Jersey, while they also operate two additional locations in Jenkintown and Philadelphia. Soon though, the ambitious young chain will be more than doubling its total offerings, establishing four new outposts in Pennsylvania and New Jersey.

The next Mochi Ring Donut shop will be opening at 101 Fayette Street in Conshohocken, replacing a Jimmy John’s that formerly occupied the corner building. The next location is slated to arrive at 832 North Bethlehem Pike in Springhouse. Additionally, two new outposts are planned for Cherry Hill, NJ and Upper Darby, PA, but their locations have yet to be finalized. The Cherry Hill outpost has already launched its Instagram page, but you can also follow Mochi Ring’s main page for future updates on the new spaces as well as information on all the new deals and flavors planned for Mochi Ring’s future.
