Fast-casual pizza looks different these days. At least at &pizza it does. The gourmet pizza chain, known for its oblong-shaped pies and unique storefronts is growing on the East Coast, with one of its latest locations to open at the former Pier 1 space at 801 Haddonfield Rd. in Cherry Hill.
&pizza is currently looking for “tribe members” to work in their Cherry Hill store. Courier Post reports that M&M Realty signed a lease for &pizza in January along with other tenants like Chopt Creative Salad Co. &pizza also has locations in East Rutherford, Jersey City, Paramus, and Union. Their Pennsylvania locations include Chesnut, Rittenhouse, UPenn, and Willow Grove. According to NJ.com, there are 44 &pizza locations throughout Maryland, Massachusetts, New Jersey, New York, Pennsylvania, Virginia, and Washington D.C., where the company was founded in 2012.
&pizza, which calls itself an “anti-establishment establishment,” builds each location with a unique design created by local artists. &pizza also pledges to pay their employees a living wage. Glassdoor reports that the average &pizza worker is paid between $15 to $19 an hour.
“We have this big, lofty idea of changing the world by doing right by our employees,” &pizza CEO Michael Lastoria told Forbes. “We want to be a case study for others in the foodservice space by leading with unity and connectiveness and purpose. We’re about all of that and pizza.”
At &pizza, you’ll find your classic plain and pepperoni pies, as well as elevated pies like the Dirty Bird with parmesan-romano sauce, shredded mozzarella, chicken, jalapeno pepper, buffalo sauce, ranch dressing, and crumbled blue cheese, or the Kalamata Harris with spinach, garlic puree, roasted red peppers, grilled onion, kalamata olives, feta, and fig balsamic. There are also vegan cheese options, gluten-free crust, vegan chicken and sausage, and toppings like spicy chickpeas, shrimp, truffle ranch, and hot honey.
The Cherry Hill &pizza will open in between Chopt and Trinity Rehab.
