PrimoHoagies on Chestnut Street holds special meaning for the company as the second original store opened by late founder Richard “Richie” Neigre. The Neigre family continues to own and operate the original location at 16th and Ritner Streets but, following the loss of their father earlier this year, passed the store onto the PrimoHoagies corporate team, who have fully renovated it in Neigre’s memory.

“The PrimoHoagies community suffered a huge loss with the passing of Richie Neigre earlier this year and our hearts continue to go out to his family,” said Nicholas Papanier Jr., owner, president, and CEO of PrimoHoagies in a statement. “It is in his honor and memory that we renovated and re-opened this beautiful store, keeping it in the PrimoHoagies family and continuing Richie’s legacy.”

The store will operate with new store hours – 9am-8pm Monday through Friday, 10am-8pm Saturday and Sunday – and will now offer cheesesteaks. Online ordering and third-part delivery are also now available.

The celebration will continue on Monday, October 3, when The Anthony Gargano Show, which airs weekdays on 97.5 The Fanatic, broadcasts live from the Chestnut Street location.

September 26 also marks the annual return of the seasonal sandwich The Pilgrim, available for a limited time at this and all PrimoHoagies stores. Also heading into the holiday season, the company will be hosting several initiatives through PrimoCares, its charitable organization, including its annual toy drive in partnership with The Delaware Valley Children’s Charity.

Using recipes passed down through the generations for its hoagies, PrimoHoagies layers Thumann’s gourmet meats and cheeses, a secret blend of spices, and locally sourced, fresh vegetables onto seeded rolls that are baked fresh throughout the day. The casual restaurant’s menu features a wide variety of cold and hot hoagies, cheesesteaks, wraps, vegetarian options, sides, chips, drinks, cookies, desserts, and more.

*Re-opening Day hoagie special and giveaway are available for customers who join or are currently enrolled in the complimentary Rewards Program.
