Rising River Brewing Co. Plans Taproom in East Texas

The brewery will open in the former Willows Restaurant property.

Rising River Brewing Co. is getting ready to open its taproom in the Lower Macungie village of East Texas. According to their Facebook page, they are planning a spring opening at 1955 Willow Lane in Macungie in a renovated 114-year-old barn on the former Willows Restaurant property. Rising River Brewing Co. is owned by Township Commissioner and Barn None Weddings owner Ron W. Beitler and former Voodoo Brewing Co. Assistant Production Manager Jason Mulligan, who will serve as head brewer. The craft beer company will share their barn with Three Little Birds Distillery.

“We want a family to come and bring kids and let kids run around on the lawn and go up to and interact with the river while the parents hit up a food truck and have a cocktail or wine and beer,” Beitler told My Morning Call.

The brewery hoped to open in 2021, but construction issues pushed them into 2022. It appears from their Facebook page that you can currently get yourself some of Rising River Brewing Co. brews at area events and in their on-site heated tent. They also sell kegs to local restaurants and taverns. Rising River Brewing Co. will serve as a nano brewery with about four or five flagship brews on tap, with a few other taps reserved for guest beers from other local PA breweries.

Their Facebook page says the brewery plans to build a 2,500 sq. ft. deck. Their March interview with My Morning Call stated that the brewery would look to build a walking trail that connects to township property and that Willows Restaurant memorabilia will decorate their property.
