What’s better than beach house vibes and beer? You’ll have to ask customers at Ocean View Brewing Company when it opens in the spring. The 5,000 sq. ft. brewpub at 85 Atlantic Ave. in Ocean View, DE, will be SoDel Concepts’ 14th restaurant and second brewery.
“We opened Northeast Seafood Kitchen in 2005 in Ocean View, so we are very familiar with the Ocean View area. The people there are truly some of the best,” SoDel Concepts President and CEO Scott Kammerer told What Now Philadelphia. “Northeast has such a loyal fan base, and we are so excited to bring a new concept to them.”
Ocean View Brewing Company’s decor will reflect a modern beach house with splashes of Americana. The interior will seat 140 guests with 60 more seats for outdoor dining. Their beer garden will allow customers to cozy up around a fire pit in the cooler months. The Rehoboth Beach-based hospitality group is planning a menu similar to the one at Thompson Island Brewing in Rehoboth, but with some added unique offerings. At Ocean View Brewing Company, you’ll find elevated pub-style sandwiches, bowls for those looking for fare on the lighter side, coastal favorites, and lots of items that can be shared over a pint poured from one of 14 taps.
“We will be brewing a mixture of traditional styles of beer and experimental beers. Customers can expect to see familiar styles, like Hazy IPAs and easy-drinking lagers, and newer styles like a Lemon Meringue Sour and a Mexican Chocolate Stout,” Brewmaster Jimmy Valm said.
Valm will oversee operations at both breweries. There will be some Thompson Island favorites on tap, but much of Ocean View’s brews will be exclusive to that location.
“Ocean View and the surrounding area is rapidly growing, and we hope to be a community favorite and a place where locals and visitors can enjoy great food, service, and top-notch beer,” Kammerer said. “Being a community partner is very important to us, and we are really looking forward to growing our roots a little deeper in Ocean View.”
