When the new picturesque farmhouse event venue, The Barn at Walnut Grove, opens, it won’t only be an incredibly sophisticated place to have your wedding or corporate retreat, but it also promises to be a lot of fun. In addition to the stunning landscaped property complete with serene water features and a renovated barn perfect for any reception, The Barn at Walnut Grove will feature a brewery, zip line, and cigar bar.
Owners David and Donna Laudadio have invested $3.5 million into the project at 813 Old Rt. 22 in Lenhartsville, PA, and are finishing construction and waiting on some approvals before they open in May. The Barn at Walnut Grove lies on a gorgeous 50-acre estate that’s got some Berks County history to it.
“The farm dates back to the 1700s, and the farmhouse purportedly was the original Krumsville Inn. You can see the old stagecoach road they used back in the day. It has been handed down from owner to owner that George Washington spent a night here on his way to Harrisburg from Philadelphia. We have even excavated some areas and found bottles dating back to the early to mid-1800s,” Dave Laudadio, who grew up on the farm, told What Now Philadelphia.
When arriving at the venue, guests will be able to ride a 350 ft. long zip line from the venue’s elevated parking lot down to the Springhouse Pavillion, which lies in the heart of the venue. Guests can also frolic around the custom-built treehouse or pose for pictures with a 1940 customized Dodge pickup truck. In addition to taking in the outdoor scenery, which features pergolas, a handcrafted bridge, and immaculate landscaping, guests can spend time inside the Springhouse Pavillion, which can be used as a space to gather between the wedding ceremony and reception where there is a cocktail area and dedicated bar. There’s also space to play some outdoor games.
The 130-year-old renovated barn is the main event space at The Barn at Walnut Grove and can fit 200 guests. It features a dance floor, a state-of-the-art sound system, a DJ/band area, and a wood slab bar. There’s also a cocktail area with a full microbrewery. The Bar at Walnut Grove also has an amenity-packed bridal suite with a shower, bathrooms, professionally lit make-up stations, mini-bar, and fridge, as well as a place to sit and relax. The groom also has his own space at Walnut Grove with a long wood slab bar, swivel stools, stocked mini-fridge, poker table, pinball machine, Game Times video game setup, and smart TV.
Walnut Grove will operate as a private club, specifically a Home Brewers Country Club. Club members will be able to rent out the venue’s spaces and have access to onsite events at Liberty Call Brewing Co. and the Cigar Lounge at The Barn at Walnut Grove. Liberty Call Brewing Co. will supply beer to the rest of the venue and offer tours and beer tasting at member events.
“We will brew a variety of beers that are popular at this time along with seasonal beers, including IPA’s, lagers, and various ales and will seasonally brew Octoberfests, stouts, and porters. We will probably mix in a sour or two as they are gaining popularity,” the Laudadios wrote in an email.
Cigar Lounge at The Barn at Walnut Grove includes a cocktail lounge with four taps for onsite-made beer, an outdoor oasis, and cigar bar, as well as a cozy fireplace, TVs, and deck with outdoor seating. In addition to hosting member events, it also makes a great place to host a wedding afterparty. The venue’s school bus will shuttle guests back to their hotel after an enchanting evening of making memories.
