Tacconelli’s is opening a second location in the Westmont section of Haddon Township at 164 N Haddon Ave. Carrying on a family business that spans five generations, Vince Tacconelli Sr. and his son Vince Jr. have made their first location a Maple Shade institution since opening its doors in 2014. Their new location is slated for opening in early 2022.

Tacconelli’s serves up salads with homemade dressings, fresh pasta and of course, unforgettable pizza. One can expect a similar menu at this new location, which will serve pies made with a tried-and-true dough recipe that has been in their family for over seventy years, according to a previous report.

Vince Jr., whose parents inspired him to graduate from the Culinary Institute of America, tells What Now Philadelphia that he looks forward to experimenting a bit more. Planning to integrate artisanal-style pastas and oven-baked appetizers, the second location will house a third oven with an open flame.

The Tacconellis searched for the perfect location for almost three years before settling on a 4,200 square-foot property with 2,100 square-feet of basement space, which Tacconelli says could be used to store dry goods. Breaking ground by November of this year, they are currently finalizing plans for a full-gut renovation.

The space was formerly David Wilson’s Men’s Shop & Salon, whose owner was pleased to sell to a family. New customers will have no problem accessing Tacconelli’s second location, which sits on a corner lot with 17 parking spaces and is only a short distance from PATCO speedline.
