Speaking to What Now Philadelphia by email, Chan explains that “Mr. Wish is a well-known brand of boba tea,” adding, “Our products are fresh, we cook our own boba, and we use fresh fruits in our fruit teas – all of our teas are made from fresh tea leaves.”

As a first-time Mr. Wish franchisee, Chan says the team is “looking forward to serving the community,” and that they are “very excited to be opening our first Mr. Wish at Morrell Plaza.”

The property’s lease was handled by Fred Younkin of Levin Management Corporation. In a statement, Younkin said “Mr. Wish complements Morrell Plaza’s other health-focused tenants such as Northeast Cycle and Nutrition 215, and will give consumers yet another reason to visit the shopping center.”

Mr. Wish was founded in Taichung, Taiwan in 2006 “by a team comprised of professionals with years of tea beverage research and development experience, specializing in creative bubble teas and fruit beverages,” according to the company’s website.

After establishing itself throughout the region, Mr. Wish realized its “hope of sharing natural and fresh tea beverages to the world,” when it set up franchise headquarters in Philadelphia around 2018. Today, the brand boasts more than 20 locations across the country, the majority of which are in the greater Philadelphia region.
