Blaze Pizza uses ingredients free from artificial colors, flavors, and preservatives. They also buy their ingredients from suppliers who raise their animals humanely and adhere to ethical employment standards. Blaze Pizza uses recyclable and compostable packaging made from post-consumer reclaimed materials wherever possible.

“We believe that each of us can benefit from making smarter decisions about what’s in our food, how we treat each other, and how we protect this wonderful planet we all share,” their website states.

Blaze Pizza was started in 2011 by Rick and Elise Wetzel of Wetzel’s Pretzels. They currently have locations all over the U.S. including 10 in Pennsylvania and eight in New Jersey. The company is currently expanding and seeking to open franchises in all 50 states.

“I’m probably most pleased with how when we go to a market where we haven’t been before, [we see] the acceptance of fast-casual pizza that’s something different than the big box pizza places,” Blaze Pizza Chief Restaurant Officer Rick Gestring told Nation’s Restaurant News. “Where people can really enjoy a really great pizza, culinary-driven, delivered consistently in a great way.”
