Fishtown vegans will soon be able to have their cake donuts and eat them too. Popular bakery, Dottie’s Donuts, is opening a new location later this fall, reports local media outlet Philly Grub.
Dottie’s Donuts, which already has three shops in Philadelphia, will be opening at 1764 Frankford Avenue. The beloved brand is taking over the space vacated by the Beehive Bake Shop.
Dottie’s announced the expansion earlier today via a Facebook post. The shop established its plans to open later this year, while also expressing an appreciation for Beehive Bake Shop, stating “We’ll be taking over the Beehive Bake Shop spot and have some big shoes to fill. We’re super excited to be in the neighborhood and are aiming to open early November.”
Fishtown locals can already see Dottie’s insignia gracing the window of the Frankford Avenue store. Once the shop opens, vegan and carnivorous guests alike can enjoy Dottie’s wide range of sweet treats. In addition to standards like the chocolate glazed, cinnamon sugar, and Boston cream donuts, the eatery offers a special filled donut of the day. Customers hoping for something more savory can opt for a bagel and cream cheese instead. Dottie’s offers hot and iced coffee, as well as Thai tea, to wash it all down.
Prospective customers keen to sample Dottie’s fare before the Fishtown shop opens can check out one of their other locations on Springfield Avenue, South 6th Street, or Rochelle Avenue.
