The Havertown restaurant will be Al Pastor’s second location. The Mexican restaurant opened its first home in Exton in 2016.

The location is currently under construction. Ownership anticipates equipment arriving in the coming weeks, and the restaurant opening in either late June or early July.

Al Pastor will occupy 6,000 square feet, divided evenly between indoor and outdoor seating.

The location will feature an expansive outdoor margarita garden. The 3,000 square-foot area will provide seating for up to 100 guests. The 3,000 square-foot indoor space will feature 15 bar seats, 85 dining room seats, a main bar and a tequila bar.

Justin Weathers and Joe Monnich co-own Al Pastor. Speaking of the eatery’s new Havertown location, Weathers states “We are proud to bring our second location to a great community with amazing neighbors, so many young families and tons of great business people all around us. We have been getting requests for several years about opening a second location and the opportunity came up and the timing seemed right. We love the community, the building and the outdoor space.”

While Al Pastor Havertown will feature a more prominent bar feel than the Exton location, the restaurant is still family friendly. Speaking to What Now Philadelphia, Weathers adds “We want it to be a fun seasonal expansion, that’s an experience all its own.”

Al Pastor will use locally-sourced ingredients to craft its menu. The restaurant offers 15 varieties of tacos, burritos, enchiladas, street corn, enchiladas, soups, and empanadas. Al Pastor’s signature items are Mexican ramen, dragon tots, and tuna ceviche tostada. The menu will provide vegetarian, vegan, and gluten-free options.

The bar will offer guests a wide variety of margaritas.

Weathers and Monnich are creating the interior design for Al Pastor. The pair will be very involved in the day-to-day operations. Weathers states. “Both Joe and I are extremely hands on with all of our concepts.”

Al Pastor will be open seven days a week from 12:00 noon until 10:00 pm.
