South Jersey foodies hungry for some Philly bites will soon be able to enjoy some of the city’s best pizza without having to brave its traffic. JoJo’s Steaks & Pizza is opening its newest location in Gloucester Township later this year, reports local media outlet 42 Freeway.
The concept, which is headquartered in South Philadelphia, will be setting up shop at 21 North Black Horse Pike. JoJo’s owner Christian Palamone tells What Now Philadelphia that he and his crew have a personal connection to the neighborhood. “We wanted to expand to South Jersey and we have a lot of friends and some family close to Blackwood.” he states, adding “We wanted to hit Jersey-we’re just trying to bring these South Philly flavors to South Jersey now.”
The Gloucester Township restaurant will be taking its lead from its South Philly big sibling, with some notable additions. Palamone explains what future regulars can look forward to, saying “We have our main ship in South Philly and this is like the little brother of our main store. For the most part it’s going to be the same menu, but we’re going to have 14 tables inside so you can enjoy pizza fresh out of the oven. This is our first time with a sit-in restaurant.”
JoJo’s will be bringing South Jersey an array of delicious dishes infused with the tastes of the City of Brotherly Love. Palamone describes his aspirations for the Blackwood location, stating “I hope that when people come there, they’re going to taste our homemade ice cream that we source locally, our homemade water ice, our fresh slices of ribeye coming from Philly, and our unique pizza recipe.”
Palamone says that while JoJo’s is still in the early stages of development, he’s hoping to open before the end of 2024.
Blackwood residents are certain to find JoJo’s delectable dishes worth the wait. As Palamone states: “They can expect the freshest Philadelphia ingredients, in South Jersey.”
