Major League Baseball’s press release says, “An Ocean City tradition is coming to Ashburn Alley, it’s Manco & Manco…the First and Last Name in Pizza! Serving everyone’s favorite thin crust pizza, the same way they have been since 1956. Plain, pepperoni and a series special will be available fresh out of the oven.”

The new restaurant will be located next to Campo’s Philly Cheesesteaks and will start slinging pies on opening day, April 8, during the game with the Oakland A’s. You can get 12-inch pies at Ashburn and the location will serve hand-tossed 18-inch pizzas to suites at the stadium.

Co-Owner Chuck Bangle said, “I think we’re ready. With the future expansion plans of Manco & Manco, we wanted a stadium deal. We are honored and humbled to be in the stadium, and I think it’s going to give us validation to customers that, ‘Can we make pizza 80 miles from home?’ And the answer is, ‘Yes, we can!’” Bangle told Atlantic City Weekly. Bangle owns the restaurant chain with his wife Mary Bangle, who is the daughter of the other owner, Kay Manco, and her late husband and co-founder, Frank Manco.

The deal was closed at a meeting in October of 2021 with The Phillies, the owners of Manco & Manco and Aramark, the company that is in charge of all of the restaurants and food within the stadium. Kevin Tedesco, general manager of Aramark at the stadium said, “One of the things we pride ourselves in is that local brand. We are trying to outdo ourselves every year. Manco & Manco is my favorite pizza growing up with. We couldn’t be more excited. It’s not just the pizza, but it’s also the look. When you come out to the location on Ashburn Alley, you will see the same big ovens, the same green and purple logo, the same uniforms and the same pizza. All of these brands bring out the fan in Philadelphia … this one touches your soul,” per Atlantic City Weekly.
