A pending liquor license suggests that the popular Black-owned business has plans to set up shop in Germantown Philly.

Co-owners Chad Williams — who on Tuesday did not immediately respond to a request for comment — and Salim Wiggins opened the first location in February 2018 on 6053 Ogontz Ave. and have since experienced success that led to the opening of a second storefront on 1400 Stenton Ave in June 2020.

A King’s Cafe is known for adding new flavor to Philadelphia classics with popular items such as the Seafood Cheesesteak and the Jerk Chicken Cheesesteak.

The local favorite has always offered superior takeout and delivery service, which has been essential during the pandemic. With doors officially back open and following proper safety protocols, A King’s Cafe operates both current locations Monday through Saturday from 11 a.m. to 11 p.m.
