First Watch, which specializes in breakfast, brunch, and lunch items, will be opening in a newly constructed building at 139 Grove Lane, Suite 4.  The restaurant will provide indoor seating for up to 132 hungry guests. Diners may also opt to enjoy their meals on the covered outdoor patio, which will comfortably accommodate 42 visitors.

The Newark city council approved a special-use permit that allows First Watch to sell alcohol at its indoor and outdoor bars.

First Watch is a major part of The Grove’s revival. The shopping center is opening a slew of new businesses, ranging from restaurants to a rehabilitation clinic. The plans ultimately call for the construction of apartments as well, creating a great deal of foot traffic for the new First Watch.

First Watch Newark has not yet announced an opening date, but is aiming for a January premiere. The restaurant will be open daily between 7 am and 2:30 pm.

First Watch uses fresh, high-quality ingredients to craft its wide range of dishes. While the restaurant only serves breakfast, brunch, and lunch dishes, the menu is vast and certain to have an option for every taste. First Watch offers old favorites including omelets, eggs and bacon, and pancakes, as well as innovative dishes like the chickichanga and the power breakfast quinoa bowl.
