The popular company last inhabited its once-and-future home at 19 South 6th Street in 2022. Funk moved the taproom out of the 6th Street brewery to a location at 518 Bank Street to create more brewing space.

Illumination is returning the Funk taproom to its old home due to customer enthusiasm rooted in watching the brewing process. Illumination co-owner Josh Karoly further explains the motivation, stating: “The reason for the move is that a lot of guests have told us that they liked being in the brewery, close to the action where all of the beer is being made. They liked that atmosphere and ambiance. So, we took their comments to heart and decided to move the taproom back to the brewery.”

Illumination plans to close the Bank Street taproom at the end of May.
