Owner Kristine DiCrosta spoke with What Now Philadelphia about opening a second location of her beloved concept at 31 Haddon Avenue. “We’ve been fans of the Collingswood-area and Haddon Avenue for a while” she states, adding ”And whenever we’ve talked about future plans for expanding, Haddon Avenue kept coming up on our list of locations due to its close knit neighborhood feel and small business community.”

DiCrosta explains that while she always intended to open a second shop, she had not been actively looking for one when time and location availability conspired to make conditions perfect for launching a new concept. She states “We’ve been planning to expand but didn’t plan on expanding so soon.  Haddon Avenue was on our list of future locations, so when someone reached out to us regarding this location, we knew we had to go take a look at it.  By the time we walked out of the building, we knew it was the perfect spot for us.  The community, our neighbors, and the building itself – we just had to take the opportunity.”

Holy Cannoli is certain to delight Jersey foodies looking for a unique, fun, and delectably sweet dining experience. DiCrosta describes it, saying: “We hope people will have a fun, creative and immersive dessert experience in our shop!  We have a unique menu consisting of cannoli and gelato specialty items, where customers will be able to select an item and put their own twist on their order.”

The shop’s unique model offers guests several mouth-watering options. Asked about a perfect entry point for Holy Cannoli’s menu, DiCrosta states: “Build-your-own cannoli!  We’re known for our rotation of new cannoli flavors each month, and with the new dessert shop concept, we’ll be able to offer the option to ‘build-your-own’.  Guests will be able to select their cannoli flavor and toppings of choice. Of course our original ricotta with chocolate chips is always a good option for anyone who wants to test the waters without jumping right in.”

DiCrosta says that Holy Cannoli is wrapping up permitting and licensing, and hoping to begin sharing its sweet treats with future regulars in early May.

The cannoli and gelato bar is intent on becoming an essential part of the neighborhood and is working with local vendors to do so. DiCrosta states: “We’re looking forward to partnering with some local businesses including our next door neighbors, Goodbeet.  We also plan on selling some retail items from other local small businesses.  Community is so important to us, and being able to support other small businesses wherever possible is indispensable.”
