The sports bar, set to open at 1720 Chestnut Street, has been in the works for quite awhile. Hornik first announces his intentions for the 2,400 square foot space back in 2022, hoping to open by the 2023 football season. Lucy’s is now on track to open by mid-January of 2024.

The building required considerable construction to transform the two-story building from the Philly Team Store into a sports bar. Hornik wanted to maintain the facade, however, to keep its sense of old Philadelphia charm. Lucy’s will be a sports bar in the truest sense of the phrase; the tavern will be a casual, comfortable, and welcoming place for fans to cheer on the Phillies, Eagles, and Flyers.

Hornik’s latest project will be located in Rittenhouse Square, a location he describes to The Philadelphia Business Journal as having “perfect pedestrian interaction.”

Hornik is the owner of the FCM Hospitality group, an extremely prolific presence in the Philadelphia restaurant scene. FCM will be adding Lucy’s to its roster alongside Philly mainstays including Morgan’s Pier, Liberty Point, Dolphin Tavern, and Lola’s Garden.
