The restaurant’s newest location will occupy 1,500 square feet at 3404 Sansom Street, a space that will provide seating for 40 to 45 customers. A representative for Masala explained to What Now Philadelphia that the University City location has been in the works for quite some time, stating “We actually were trying to find a location near University City for almost a year, and eventually we found a perfect spot that is perfect for our food concept.”

Masala’s team has spent the better part of a decade perfecting its approach to running a successful and popular eatery. The representative says “We have been in the restaurant business for almost ten years, and in those ten years we have been doing and trying to see how we can manage to serve the same quality food at all  of our locations- we can say that we found our way to serve quality food fresh, fast and hot.”

Fans of Masala’s Rittenhouse Square and Midtown Village locations will be pleased to hear that its University City home will stick to the formula they love. The newest restaurant will serve the same delicious dishes as the others.

Guests eager to sample the chain’s cuisine will be able to sate their hunger in spring. The representative states “We are almost done with the permits, now we are working on the interior and a few kitchen modifications and setup.”, adding that the restaurant will likely open around March.

New customers, unsure where to start with Masala’s menu, have plenty of options. The representative advises:  “Our menu mostly consists of Kati rolls(Indian wraps), Hot & Spicy Platters and our traditional Dum Biryani(Rice dish) so we definitely suggest all to try our Chicken Masala Kati rolls, MK’ Special(Masala Kitchen Special) Chicken Platter and Dum Biryani. And we make our homemade drinks fresh daily so we definitely suggest trying our most popular drink, Mango Lassi.”
