While the land development plan, submitted by Presbyterian Development, has been given the go-ahead by the Hampden Township Planning Commission, township commissioners must also give their stamps of approval before ground can be broken.
Should the proposed Starbucks receive all the necessary approvals, Presbyterian Development will erect the coffee shop in the Southeast corner of the South Hampden Shopping Center. The completed store will be a stand-alone shop, featuring a drive through, and will occupy 2,460 square feet.
The proposed South Hampden Starbucks will join the 357 existent locations in Pennsylvania. The beloved coffee juggernaut, known for its bespoke java drinks, began life in Seattle in 1971. Drinks ranging from basic coffee to blended frappuccinos have helped the chain expand to more than 35,000 locations globally. The brand also offers a range of breakfast sandwiches and pastries.
