“We’re stoked to bring our New York style bagels to a new section of southern Delaware. The announcement that we put out on Facebook got a lot of great attention, and we’re excited that people are excited about it,” Surf Beach vice president, Matt Patton, tells What Now Philadelphia, adding, “It’s always cool to see the reactions of people, realizing people want Surf Bagel just as much as we do.”

Prior to SoDel Concepts acquiring the brand in 2021, Surf Bagel was owned and operated by founders Dave and Tom Vitella, who “combined their love of surfing and passion for good food to bring authentic, scratch-made New York style bagels” to the company’s flagship location in Lewes.

Today, Surf Bagel offers both breakfast and lunch menus, with everything from breakfast sandwiches and burritos to cheesesteaks, tacos, smoothies, and salads.

In addition to those signature bagels, the brand’s sandwiches include La Guatemalan, featuring grilled chicken served with grilled peppers, three-cheese blend, and salsa sour cream, the Kai Boy with grilled sweet and sour chicken, pineapple, three-cheese blend, lettuce, and sour cream, and the Shorebreak Cheesesteak with housemate Caesar salad and parmesan cheese.
