Speaking to What Now Philadelphia, Garrity describes High Grounds’ vision as “providing the next level of excellence with coffee products, with providing great food, and being innovative with everything we offer the public.”

High Grounds Coffee Roasters will provide the college town with sophisticated, delicious, but non-alcoholic drinks and superior food. Garrity expressed enthusiasm for the chance to provide Glassboro with a new and innovative dining experience, stating “We saw an opportunity to bring an industrial, rustic coffeehouse into the town…We want to be the next level, whether it’s providing non-alcoholic drinks or food.”

Despite Garrity’s background as a brewer, High Grounds Coffee Roasters will not serve any alcohol. Guests can enjoy a wide range of beverages, including Death of the Fox’s non-alcoholic beer, mocktails, hop water, and kombucha tea.

Garrity brings extensive coffee roasting knowledge to High Grounds. He spent years studying coffee bean roasting and is a member of coffee associations. High Grounds Coffee is affiliated with Royal Coffee New York, which helps provide education and knowledge to the establishment’s staff.

High Grounds Coffee Roasters will be using fresh beans sourced directly from New York. All of the beans will be roasted on site, with Garrity assuring customers he and his staff know “way more than we need to” about the process.

High Grounds menu includes classic coffee, specialty coffee drinks, and teas. The food menu provides breakfast and lunch options, featuring sandwiches, paninis, soups, and bakery items from Liscio’s Bakery.

The location is currently undergoing interior changes necessary to house a coffee shop. The completed restaurant will feature more than 2,000 square feet of indoor seating, including tables and a bar.

Likewise, High Grounds is currently going through the permit process. Garrity and his crew are targeting an August opening, hoping to begin operations before the start of the Fall semester.
