Friends, business partners, and Molto Bene! co-founders and owners Gabriel Austin and Andy Polhemus spoke to What Now Philadelphia about opening their new store, set to open at 2303 Frankford Avenue, and how it will differ from their food truck, which will continue operating even after the new establishment opens.
“It will feature fresh pastas and a specialty goods market. Unlike the food truck, it’s all pre-packaged foods.”
The new Molto Bene! will still prominently feature the duo’s delicious handmade, small-batch sauces and top-shelf ravioli.
The pair explain that they have been eying the location for quite awhile. “We live maybe a five minute walk away. The building had been for lease for about five years, and we watched the neighborhood grow. We had a residency with some friends, and they’re moving to a bigger space, so the time just seems to be right.”
Austin and Polhemus are finalizing the layout of their new space. The partners say they hope to be open before the holiday season. “October would be great”, they explain, “but so would early November.”
Carb enthusiasts eager to try Molto Bene’s wares but unsure where to start can’t do much better than the three cheese ravioli and meatballs, the owners state. They also recommend the hot Italian sausages for meat enthusiasts.
