Raising Cane’s is hoping to open at 695 North Delsea Drive. The lot currently houses a defunct Rite-Aid, which will need to be demolished before construction can begin on the storefront. Before the wrecking ball can swing, however, Raising Cane’s must present its plans to Glassboro Township. The Planning Board will hear the fast-casual impressario’s proposal on October 3.

If the board grants approval, an entirely new restaurant will be built from the ground up. The Raising Cane’s will feature a dual-lane drive-thru.

It is far too early in the development process to make a reasonable guess as to the opening date. As the restaurant has not yet received approval, it is improbable it will open before late 2024.

Raising Cane’s has been mounting a full-on New Jersey offensive. In addition to this tentative Glassboro location, the chain is actively developing stores in Marlton, Cherry Hill, Washington Township, Burlington, and Deptford.

Since opening it’s doors in 1996 in Baton Rouge, Raising Cane’s has enjoyed massive success. The eatery currently has over 700 locations.

The Raising Cane’s menu is simple and focused. The restaurant serves chicken sandwiches and chicken fingers, with Texas Toast, coleslaw, or crinkle-cut fries offered as sides. All of the food is made fresh to order, and completed with the store’s signature Cane’s sauce.
