Taco Reho chef and founder, Billy Lucas, developed the restaurant to spread the flavors of Los Angeles street food. Lucas opened the Taco Reho food truck in 2014 and the eatery’s first brick and mortar establishment in 2022.

La Vida Hospitality marketing manager, Kelly Repka, spoke to What Now Philadelphia about Taco Reho’s new Delaware home, saying “Middletown is experiencing rapid growth as more families and businesses are taking advantage of expansive space for building and choosing to plant roots there. Right now, there are not many fast casual restaurants catering to this population…Taco Reho saw an opportunity to give the people of Middletown a different option.”

Taco Reho will move into the space vacated by Steak ‘n Shake. Repka sites the structures existing design as a motivating factor in choosing both the time and location for the restaurant’s second brick and mortar location, stating “Taco Reho has developed a strong following… and…we are in a very good place for expansion…the closing of Steak ‘n Shake downtown presented the perfect opportunity. Steak ‘n Shake’s construction was well suited for our fast casual plus model, thanks to an existing drive-thru, in addition to space for tables, a new bar, and a patio.”

Middletown’s Taco Reho will feature the same lunch and dinner menu as the Rehoboth location. Customers can look forward to sampling fan-favorites, including chicken tinga and buffalo shrimp tacos, as well as the award-winning Danger Dogs. Repka adds that Taco Reho will be making their own tortillas daily, using an industry best tortilla press and Mexican heirloom corn kernels.

La Vida will be updating the 4,200 square foot building to reflect Taco Reho’s musically inspired brand. The restaurant will feature wall art provided by local artists and a stage for live musical performances.
