Smoothie King is set to be located at 1410 Blackwood Clementon Rd Clementon, NJ 08021, where a former Denny’s once resided for several decades. What Now Philly contacted franchisee Humza Tanvir to inquire about a debut date, but did not receive immediate feedback. However, construction on the neighboring Wingstop has been underway since April, which may be a good indicator of pace for Smoothie King.

This location will be Tanvir’s sixth Smoothie King franchise since joining the company in 2017. According to the Smoothie King website, Tanvir opened “four of these stores…right in the middle of the pandemic in 2020. While this may seem intimidating to some, COVID-19 was not about to slow him down.”

Smoothie King was founded in 1973 in Kenner, LA. In 2012, the company was bought out by a franchisee. Today, Smoothie King sells an array of health-based beverages that, since 2010, have focused on whole and unmodified ingredients. Some of its smoothie combos include pineapple kale, blueberry tart cherry, and banana passionfruit.
