City Center Investment Corp. is a real estate development company putting efforts into revitalizing downtown Allentown. On September 15th, City Center announced plans to bring Sports & Social to Allentown, writing across social media channels: “City Center announces Sports & Social as newest tenant in Downtown Allentown! Sports & Social is a highly curated collection of venues by Live! Dining & Entertainment.”

Sports & Social, which is connected with Xfinity Live! and Live! Casino & Hotel in the South Philly Sports Complex, will open next spring on the corner of 7th and Hamilton, on the ground floor of the Two City Center office building.

What exactly does this mean for those of us who frequent Allentown? Sports & Social will bring a premiere dining experience along with live entertainment and sporting events to downtown. The venue is known for its live music, special events, and sports-watching facilities, not to mention the gaming program or food and cocktail list. The space at 645 Hamilton St. gives Sports & Social 8,000 square-feet to spread out, and there’s talk of al fresco dining on the venue’s patio. The Morning Call reports the interior and patio are being redesigned by Mark Knauer of Knauer Incorporated.
