In a statement emailed to What Now Philadelphia, a spokesperson for the restaurant said, “Sweetgreen, the mission-driven restaurant brand serving healthy food at scale, announces that they have signed a lease to open a location in Marlton NJ at 500 Route 73 South. Evesham, NJ 08053.”

They went on to add, “Founded in 2007, sweetgreen passionately believes that real food should be convenient and accessible to everyone. Every day, across its over 190 restaurants, their team members create plant-forward, seasonal, and earth-friendly meals from fresh ingredients and produce that prioritizes organic, regenerative, and local sourcing. sweetgreen’s strong food ethos and investment in local communities have enabled them to grow into a national brand with a mission to build healthier communities by connecting people to real food. “

This restaurant opening is part of the chain’s overall strategy to reach 1,000 locations nationwide by 2030. All restaurants are corporate-owned and united by the same mission to reimagine fast food.

When you visit a Sweetgreen location, such as the one coming to Marlton, you can expect real food cooked from scratch. With a desire to mitigate climate change, the founders of the chain are committed to offering a completely carbon-neutral menu by 2027. Currently, it’s very plant-forward with options for salads, bowls, and plates — all of which are customizable.

In regard to the chain’s focus on earth-friendly food, Sweetgreen Co-Founder and Chief Concept Officer Nicolas Jammet said, “Simply put, we believe it’s the right thing to do for our business and for the planet. With the food system driving 25 percent of global greenhouse gas emissions, the time for change is now.”

Jammet is one of three founders, who all met at Georgetown University. The first Sweetgreen location opened Aug 1, 2007, just two months after the trio graduated college.

With a strong commitment to fresh, yet fast, food, you’ll find plenty of plant-based options on the mouth-watering menu. You’ll soon be able to order the popular Harvest Bowl with fall flavors, such as apples and sweet potatoes, as well as the must-try Guacamole Greens, which is a Tex-Mex-vibe salad.
