The ambitious project is set to take over the space that formerly housed the YMCA. Ferro, who is partnered with Mark Milanese of Milanese Remodeling, wants Steel City Brewing to be a more relaxed location than many of his other, upscale restaurants. Steel City will house a traditional restaurant on the upper level, while the ground floor will be dedicated to a beer hall.

The brewery will be crafting and serving 10 to 12 different beer varieties on site. Steel City will have more to offer than just good food and unique drinks. The downstairs beer hall will feature dartboards and pool tables for guests who want a little recreation with their meals.

Ferro has spearheaded ten concepts in and around the Philadelphia area over the past ten years. The entrepreneur originally hoped to open Steel City Brewing by July 4 of 2023, however now that construction has commenced, the projected opening has moved to spring of next year.
