“The larger, refreshed store will provide even more extreme value every day, along with more thrills, more fun, and new items each week. The broad assortment of merchandise includes seasonal and home décor, household products, Hallmark greeting cards, balloons and party supplies, dinnerware, food, teaching and school necessities, health and beauty essentials, toys, books, and much more,” Kayleigh Campbell, manager, investor, and media relations for Dollar Tree, told What Now Philadelphia.

The first incarnation of Dollar Tree dates back to 1953 when the dollar store was called K&K Toys. It was also 5&10, then Only $1.00 before becoming the Dollar Tree in 1985. The Dollar Tree celebrated the opening of its 5000th store in 2014 and acquired Family Dollar in 2015.
