Dougie Taylor, who owns and operates the brand with wife Sara, told What Now Philadelphia by email that the couple doesn’t “have too much info until leases are officially signed,” adding that they are “very excited about the locations.”

What Dougie could share, however, is that “we will be bringing our Delightfully Perfect Cookies AND Ice Cream to Philly this year, and can’t wait to be there as we already have a ton of loyal Philadelphia Cookie Friends who visit us in Lancaster or order online from us.”

Restaurants and bakeries often say that their food is made with love. But for Taylor Chip Cookies, that sentiment couldn’t be truer, as the origins of the company can be traced back to when Sara and Dougie first started dating and turned to baking as “something fun to do outside of the typical date night,” as the duo writes on their website. “About a year or so after they started baking together, they finally felt like they perfected the cookie – just in time to get married.”

Since then, Taylor Chip has garnered a devout following across its three locations – in Lancaster, Gordonville, and Hershey – as well as its nationwide shipping model, and become synonymous with uniquely thick and dense cookie creations such as a Peanut Butter Jelly, a brownie-cookie hybrid known as the Brookie, Salted Caramel Pretzel, Snickerdoodle, and P.B. Nutella Swirl.
